Overview:
Sayara International is searching for a Business Development Coordinator to ensure efficiency in the organization’s new business and proposal development processes. The successful candidate will work closely with the senior leadership team to help build Sayara’s business globally. The successful candidate will likely be experienced in International Development and have general familiarity with Sayara’s major thematic areas of expertise such research/M&E, social and behavior change communications, migration, disinformation, public health, counter violent extremism, and more.
Day-to-day, this role will entail coordinating client engagements and managing the proposal development process. The position requires an organized and diligent candidate with excellent English-language writing skills and a high degree of professionalism, who can serve as one of the ‘faces’ of Sayara with prospective clients (such as international and national NGOs, governments, civil society organizations, and other developmental partners). Through this proposal development process, you will contribute significantly to the work Sayara does to build positive change in societies that most need it. You will be working with a welcoming and diverse international team of experienced professionals. The success of the Business Development Coordinator will be determined both by the win rate of Sayara’s proposals and by the efficiency of each proposal writing process.

Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage proposal process to ensure high-quality proposals are produced on time
- Decide what internal and external resources are required to bring together the required elements of a proposal
- Assemble and lead bid team including technical and administrative staff and/or consultants
- Ensure all stakeholders are aware of deadlines, expectations, and have the resources needed to meet them
- Take ownership of internal proposal development processes and procedures (which you will adjust at your discretion)
- Engage with prospective clients, as required
- Attend and/or lead team meetings
- Update internal documents and trackers
Qualifications:
- Four to six years of relevant professional experience, with a minimum two years of proposal development experience for international development donor agencies
- Excellent skills in writing, editing, formatting, research, and communications (English-language)
- Excellent meeting facilitation skills
- Work experience in the international development field
- MA or equivalent experience in international relations or development, or a related field
- Strong knowledge of the international development donor market
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision and to consistently meet deadlines
- Ability to work long hours when needed and to take on tasks that may be outside the express terms of reference
- Strong commitment to high quality work and integrity in all interactions
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage appropriately with various audiences
Location:
There are no specific location requirements for the Business Development Coordinator role. The Sayara International team has a global headquarters in the U.S. (Washington, D.C.), as well as regional hubs, support offices, and additional staff based in many locations around the world.
Duration:
The Business Development Coordinator will be offered a one (1) year Employment Contract, with a four (4) month probation period and the option for renewal, based on the discretion of, and mutual agreement between, Sayara and the Business Development Coordinator.
